The Lady - AUNG SAN SUU KYI


Aung San Suu Kyi, human-rights activist and leader of Burma's National League for Democracy, was detained in 1989 by SLORC, the ruling military junta for almost 15 years. Today, she is newly liberated from six years' house arrest in Rangoon, where she was held as a prisoner of conscience, despite an overwhelming victory by her party in May 1990.
I just watched the movie about you - The Lady - a real love story.  I was touched so much and I finally realized how you could overcome the unbelievably long house arrest (almost 15 years) – the  love from your dearest husband, sons and her followers and  courageous people. Now and then she has been relentlessly struggling for her people and country for democracy.
