What you do something is what you do everything. Your subconscious mind has decided for you habit and direction. Don't worry, our subconscious mind can be adjusted by daily reflection and realignment with our goal if we want.

Have you ever suddenly woke up in life and realized, “How did I get here?” It is so easy to drift in life without even realizing it. Your habits determine your future. It is a universal law that you cannot avoid. It is as strong as gravity in your life. The sum of your present life is wrapped up in your past choices.

Reasons Why Your Habits Determines Your Future

I want to offer you 4 powerful reasons as to why our habits will determine our future. Maybe some of these will connect with you and encourage you to start paying attention to those daily habits in life.
Because we are creatures of habit. Whether we want to admit it or not, we govern our life by habits. In fact, experts tell us that 90% of our daily behavior is based on habits. You have habits for your morning routine, your daily commute, how you pay your bills and what you do with your free time. The sooner we accept that we are in fact creatures of habit, we can begin to identify those habits that are not taking us in the direction that we want to go.
Because you are the sum of your past habits. Your habits determine your future because of the law of sowing and reaping. In fact, the present “you” is a sum of your past choices in life. The most obvious example is if you are overweight. You are overweight because of the past choices you made to eat more and exercise less.
It is painful for us to admit that the responsibility lies with us. We often want to point to our environment, bad luck, and how we were the victim when it comes to the negative things in our life. The sooner you accept responsibility for your life, the sooner things can begin to change for the better.

Because your direction (not intention) determines your destination. This is a powerful principle that I first read in the Principle of the Path by Andy Stanley. You can have every intention in the world to accomplish something, but if your daily choices are going in the opposite direction, you will not end up where you want.
If you live in the Midwest and decide to go to the Florida Keys, you do not get there by heading north. It doesn’t matter how well you have packed, how great of a map that you have, heading north doesn’t work. Your intentions in life mean nothing. The actual direction you take (i.e daily choices and habits) determine your destination.
Because you always end up where you put your focus. This is why it is so critical to have a life plan. My life plan paints a clear picture for where I want to go in life. It works like a GPS. The more I review it, the more I have to re-align my actions, thoughts, behaviors, and habits to meet my life goals.
Where do you put your focus? Sure, you can say that you have no real goals for your life, but that isn’t true. What goals you have not set, someone else has set them for you. You are heading somewhere in life, you don’t have a choice.
Are the current habits in your life the right ones to get you where you want to go?

The impact of our friends - A father says...A new graduate's first year working experience

Recently, we have some gatherings with some special friends during the Chinese New year.

The talk of a father about his son's childhood story related to football manner has been lingering in my mind.

His son is a football fan. When he was a kid, he used to complained that no one liked to pass a ball to him when he . The father conformed his son, "If you can catch a ball well, people will give you more chances. The first thing is to be ready to catch the ball - to practice more, to be well prepared. 作好自己的本份,机会自然来.

This exactly resonates to the saying that 机会永远是留给有准备的人.

A Double E graduate from UST has been just working for one year. Here is his personal feeling about the difference between studying in school and working in the society:

He said, writing program becomes his routine in his R/D job in combination with all he learned from school, not only his electronic knowledge. Every day is new to him,  so fresh and challenging that he need to learn new things quickly and in a massive quantities in a short period.

I can see his job satisfaction from his confident and humble voice, despite his hectic life...

It looks writing program is a life tool as basic and important as the most elementary arithmetic  for the new generation and digital age nowadays.

Every day I can find something new to think about, to enjoy, especially to learn from people around us.












Dead End - really a dead end?

Has anyone watched the talk show last Saturday by Michael Hui - The War of Men and Women. 

 It was charity donation event - Suicide prevention Services 生命热线. My family are fans of Michael.So we had a night of fun and some leanings about life, men and women...

Besides exhilaration and satirisation through the show, I was shocked to realize the divorce rate of HK is No. 2 in the world, only next to New York. Why? And 40% of suicide is related to relationship between men and women.

What first struck me  was -

多沟通,用心聆听,互相包容, 男女间冲突减少,自然能减少烦恼`,身体也会好多了!

If we can view from others' points of view, any arguments or any issues would be much more simple to resolve;  forgiving,  understanding and open-minded attitudes is the key to maintain a happy, sustainable relationship

防止肥肚飲食法

1. 雞蛋是你早餐及運動後良伴。蛋白質防止肌肉破裂,雞蛋中的維他命B亦可以給你更多能量,做工作或運動起勁

7. 不想,就要戒食經過處理的澱粉質,如麵包、意粉、白米。將他們改成未經加工處理的全麥麵包、意粉、紅米及麥片,停止你的身體儲存脂肪。
